Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: (Daniel 10:5 KJV)
Worship requires us to lift up our eyes to see The LORD’s majesty.
It causes us to bow to His sovereignty! Worship has power because in it we can see who our great God is!
My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes. (Psalms 119:48 KJV)
When you lift up your eyes and hands, you are surrendering your heart and opening your eyes to see who he really is. There comes revelation as a result of this lifting. Even more when we bow.
Worship is like this scenario:
You are walking afar off, your heads down, you walk through a golden paved path and admire it’s external beauty. Then there’s one that walks, sees this golden paved path, follows the trail with their heads up. They walk in through the gate to see a palace. They get in through the door but do not stop there, they reach the throne and they bow at the King because of WHO HE IS!
What do you think happens after you reverence a king?
- He speaks to you
- He blesses you
- He feeds you!
This is true worship. It causes you to hear! Your heart is open to meditate upon his word (feeding). You won’t leave His presence without a mark of His mighty hand (blessings).
